Definitely a favorite of 2010.  This record features Jon Kortland / Jensen Ward of Iron Lung and Greg Wilkinson of Brainoil.
The A side, "They Eat What We Eat", comes in with a simple, yet enticing beat until finally a pounding, eerie ovetone sets in. I find myself humming this song long after it's slow and ominous tone fades out.

The B side, "They Sleep Where You Sleep", is oddly reminiscent of the repetitive song in the 2010 film Inception. However, I'm sure it's a totally random event. The build up in this song somehow manages to make me feel uneasy and anxious, in a good way of course.

I seriously recommend buying this 7" if it's still available. $8ppd here. A small price to pay for a killer record.

8 Pissed off, violent songs.

California Love is one of my current favorite bands. This 7" only adds more fuel to the favorite fire. Grind violence at it's absolute finest. Packed full of religious hatred and heavy apocalyptic tones, the lyrics read like the diary of a true misanthrope.
In the past year I have picked up their two full length's (Can't Waste Death & Reaping The Whirlwind) as well as their split with the Holy Terror band Gehenna. These grind masters have yet to record one song I don't love. If you like/love the songs as much as I do, please go and buy this record. The Gehenna split is still available as well from A389.

8 Grinding, hateful, misanthropic songs.

This record is the living, breathing son of Crossed Out. Quite honestly some of the meanest, darkest power violence that has ever, and will ever exist. Every song is so jarring and pissed off. And just when you think it can't get more hateful, you're proven wrong. The last song "Inadequate" ends on a very dissonant and unsettling note that leaves you craving more.

After hearing their demo 7" in late 2008 I knew I had to pick this record up as quickly as possible. SFN is definitely one of the best PV bands in existence. Be sure to look out for the In Disgust/SFN split 5" coming out on Drugged Conscience in the very near future. Until then, I urge you to buy this record. $6ppd and it's yours.

EXTORTION - TERMINAL CANCER 7"

10 Tracks of raw, pissed off, Aussie madness.

Extortion is known for their graphic, often disturbing and hateful album artwork created by Rohan Harrison, their singer. Never has a band's image matched their sound so well. And what I mean by that is that while listening to this unnerving blast masterpiece I feel an overwhelming, destructive hatred for all. \m/
They honestly have a lot of different sounds on a lot of different records, but I can without a doubt say that this is by far my favorite Extortion record. Reminiscent of Infest and Siege, this album is sure to sit high up on the favorite lists of fast music enthusiasts.
I believe it's still available from a few distros, notably Jeff & Athena at Six Weeks Records. If you like what you hear, pick up a copy.

GODSTOMPER - HEAVY METAL VOMIT PARTY 12"

24 Tracks of blasting, crushing, noisy power violence.

Godstomper has been playing music in one form or another (ex: The Barfos) for 15+ years. This album, being one of their earlier records, is no exception to their signature relentless two piece drum and bass noise blast. I'm almost certain they were, and are, influenced by early Napalm Death a la Scum and the almighty Hatred Surge Demo. I also pick up very strong hints of Neanderthal and early Man Is The Bastard.

Seeing as how this record is long since out of print it may be difficult to find, but if you ever get the chance to buy it DO NOT hesitate. Some of the best power violence/grindcore/noise/hate you'll ever hear.
